Rule-required first
- Every item on the current mandatory-equipment list
- Specified water capacity, containers, lights, layers, phone, or emergency equipment
- Bib, identification, waivers, and tracking requirements
- Rules for poles, headphones, crew, pacers, drop bags, and outside aid
This event requires listed equipment throughout the race, permits checks, and applies penalties for missing gear. Its rules also warn runners to prepare for cold, wind, rain, and snow.
The organizer describes its list as minimum equipment for remote trails and unpredictable weather. That list applies to its races—not automatically to every 50K.
Add course-specific equipment
Consider tested shoes, socks, anti-chafe, food, accessible water, weather layers, sun protection, battery reserve, blister supplies, and navigation backup according to the event. More gear is not always safer if it is untested, inaccessible, or too heavy.
Perform a packing rehearsal
Run with the fully loaded system. Reach every item without unloading the pack, keep mandatory gear protected, learn refill time, and prevent bounce and rubbing.
Give the ordinary weeks a reason
Run More! You can do it!
RunTeaming is an Android running league. Your best qualifying run of the week becomes your score on a five-runner team. The app supplies the team and matches it against another team near its level, so you do not recruit anyone or share a time or location.
