Before the start
Divide the course by meaningful terrain and aid stations. Estimate ranges, not perfect splits. Note where congestion, altitude, heat, exposed ridges, technical descent, or darkness may slow progress.
Opening third: protect the future
Keep breathing controlled, let faster starters go, use the planned hiking rules, and fuel early. An easy climb can borrow heavily from legs you still need for descending.
Middle third: run the system
Audit stomach, feet, temperature, water, gait, and cutoff margin. Fix small problems while they are small. Avoid chasing average pace after slow terrain.
Final third: spend evidence
Increase effort only when legs, stomach, footing, conditions, and remaining terrain agree. A runnable finish is earned by restraint, not saved automatically by road speed.
Give the ordinary weeks a reason
Run More! You can do it!
RunTeaming is an Android running league. Your best qualifying run of the week becomes your score on a five-runner team. The app supplies the team and matches it against another team near its level, so you do not recruit anyone or share a time or location.
Use the button to email the Google account on your Android phone. You will get a reply with the current access instructions.
