First 50K Race-Day Checklist

Build one race card for transport, gear, effort, hiking, fuel, aid stations, cutoffs, and finish logistics.

Plain answerPut the course profile, aid stations, cutoffs, mandatory gear, effort ceilings, hiking triggers, fuel times, water capacity, weather adjustments, and transport on one race card. Race morning should execute decisions, not create them.

Course and rules

  • Current route, profile, surface, markings, and navigation method
  • Aid locations, expected time between them, and available supplies
  • Cutoff times and the checkpoint where each applies
  • Mandatory gear and prohibited assistance
  • Forecast, sunrise, sunset, altitude, and exposure

Personal system

  • Tested shoes, socks, pack, layers, lighting, and anti-chafe
  • Fuel by time, carbohydrate total, fluid access, and backup
  • Effort ceilings for runnable trail, climbs, and descents
  • Objective hiking triggers and aid-station routine
  • Phone, emergency information, transport, and finish meeting plan

At every aid station

Arrive knowing the job: refill, collect planned fuel, address feet or layers, dispose of waste correctly, confirm direction, and leave. Do not browse the table into an accidental fifteen-minute stop.

Event instructions govern route following, equipment, assistance, safety, cutoffs, and penalties. Always use the current rules for the race you entered.
Field ruleNothing mandatory missing. Nothing new. No decision left to a tired brain that could have been made at home.

Run More! You can do it!

RunTeaming is an Android running league. Your best qualifying run of the week becomes your score on a five-runner team. The app supplies the team and matches it against another team near its level, so you do not recruit anyone or share a time or location.

Use the button to email the Google account on your Android phone. You will get a reply with the current access instructions.
